I set out to be an engineer, and even got a degree in mathematics from The Ohio State University, because I liked the structure and order of it. My particular interests were sets and analytical geometry, but my true love was always the imagery, either intelectual or visual.

That fascination with the structure of the world, eventually found it's home in the diciplined structure of HTML and the web, where vision and form meet.

It all started with Judy, who saw another artist's website in 1995, and thought it would be neat to have one. How could I refuse the diversion. So I started "surfing" this "web" thing. Someone loaned me a big fat book called HTML Made Easy, but I discovered that everything I needed to know was allready on the very web pages I was looking at, hidden just beneath the surface for all to see. There was Mosaic and Aracnid, and the everpresent simpletext. Pretty basic stuff by today's standards, but it was free, no paper, ink, film or chemicals to buy, cleanup or throw away. All it took was curiosity.

Then I discovered CSS, PHP and MySQL. WOW!
