I began photography as a childhood hobby, developing film and making contact prints in the bathtub under a bright red light bulb. Science! how grand it was.

Somehow, I had the ability to see, and taking pictures was easy. I did the usual training, high school and college yearbooks, jobs at camera shops and photo studios. Eventually I went to graduate school and got my M.F.A. in photography from Ohio University in 1968.

I then taught design at the University of Florida for two years, before returning to Columbus, Ohio to begin a career in advertising.

I enjoy the ideal environment of the studio, where every detail of light and shadow can be precisely controlled, but my most rewarding assignments have been in the field, photographing people absorbed in their own lives. I have a particular approach that allows people to naturally radiate and a long series of assignments for O.S.U Hospitals, and Children's Hospital gave me an opportunity to express it.

Weather it be the ultimate controlled product illustration under ideal studio conditions, or the apparent chaos of an emergency room, the same sense of form and structure

In 1997 I got my first digital camera, A Ricoh RDC-2.
Three years late, I tore out the darkroom.

Webshots is a collection of digital photographs take for a monthly feature of Innerart.com, where I was webmaster and designer.
